The Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy at our institution is committed to the highest standards of education, patient care, and research in the field of skin, hair, nail, and sexually transmitted diseases. Infrastructure & Facilities

The department is well-equipped with modern infrastructure designed to meet both clinical and academic requirements:

  • Outpatient Department (OPD): Comprehensive care for common and rare dermatological conditions with specialized consultation clinics./li>
  • Inpatient Services: Dedicated dermatology beds for intensive management of severe skin disorders.
  • Specialty Clinics: Psoriasis clinic, vitiligo clinic, leprosy clinic, venereology clinic, and pediatric dermatology clinic.
  • Dermatosurgery and Cosmetology Unit: Equipped for procedures such as cryotherapy, electrosurgery, chemical peeling, scar revision, laser therapies, and hair restoration techniques.
  • Dermatopathology Laboratory: Advanced diagnostic facilities for histopathology and immunofluorescence.

Academic Activities

The department plays a vital role in undergraduate medical education:

Services

The department provides wide-ranging clinical services to patients of all age groups:

  • Diagnosis and management of dermatological conditions including psoriasis, eczema, vitiligo, urticaria, acne, and autoimmune blistering diseases.
  • Specialized care for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and leprosy.
  • Pediatric dermatology services for congenital and acquired skin diseases in children.
  • Emergency dermatology services for acute skin reactions and drug hypersensitivity syndromes.
  • Aesthetic and cosmetic dermatology services such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, botulinum toxin injections, fillers, and scar management.

FACULTY

The department is led by a team of distinguished academicians and clinicians comprising Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, and Senior Residents. Faculty members are actively engaged in teaching, clinical practice, mentoring, and guiding research activities.

Dr. Aakash Singhal
Assistant Professor
MBBS, MD

Dr. Aakash Singhal, Assistant Professor, Dept of Dermatology has over 6 years of academic and clinical experience. He pursued his MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi and went on to attain MD in Dermatology from University college of medical sciences and GTB Hospital, Delhi. He has done 3 years of Senior residency from Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital, Delhi, where he gained immense clinical experience and was actively involved in Undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching. He has multiple publications in national and international journals. He has also presented at various national conferences and achieved 2nd prize in paper presentation at Onychocon 2022. He regularly attends various conferences and workshops to learn new skills and stay updated

His key areas of interest include Psoriasis, Auto-immune connective tissue disorders, blistering disorders, nail disorders and cosmetic dermatology
