Dr. Shahid Raza is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology at Maharaja Agrasen Kedar Nath Gupta Medical College. He obtained his Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, following the completion of his Post graduation in Medical Microbiology.
Dr. Raza further enhanced his research expertise through an international post-doctoral fellowship in the United States, where he gained valuable global exposure and advanced his skills in cutting-edge microbiological research.
With over a decade of teaching and research experience, Dr. Raza has been actively engaged in mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate medical students as well as guiding research scholars. He has authored more than 20 research articles published in Indexed, peer-reviewed national and international journals.
His current research interests include antimicrobial resistance, molecular mechanisms of pathogens, immunological responses, and metabolomic profiling of infectious diseases. Dr. Raza is passionate about dialectic and interactive teaching; Problem based learning and is deeply committed to exploring novel antimicrobial strategies to combat emerging drug-resistant pathogens.
Dr. Akansha Aggarwal is a dedicated public health professional and medical educator with expertise in Community Medicine, maternal and child health, epidemiology, medical research, and health systems strengthening. With experience across clinical care, community-based healthcare delivery, public health research, and medical education, she is passionate about advancing equitable and people-centered healthcare services, particularly for children and underserved populations.
Over the past several years, Dr. Aggarwal has worked in tertiary care institutions, public health field settings, and research organizations across India. She has served as Senior Resident in the Departments of Community Medicine at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences (ABVIMS) & Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi, and University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) & GTB Hospital, Delhi. She has also worked in the neurodevelopment domain at the Centre for Health Research and Development, Society for Applied Studies (SAS), Delhi, and gained public health surveillance experience at Airport Health Organisation, Goa.
Dr. Aggarwal is deeply interested in child health, preventive healthcare, health policy, and public policy analysis. She combines field-based public health practice with academic and research-oriented work, with a strong focus on community engagement, health education, and strengthening primary healthcare systems.
She is also the founder of the Society for Welfare of Underprivileged Children (SWoUC), an initiative started at UCMS & GTB Hospital aimed at improving health awareness, education, and welfare among underprivileged children living around the hospital campus.
Dr. Aggarwal aims to integrate research, teaching, policy analysis, and community engagement to contribute toward strengthening public healthcare systems and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations, especially children and women.
